Benefits of Additional IP Addresses with Colobridge
Improved Fault Tolerance
The additional static IP address, assigned alongside the primary one, allows for the implementation of various network configurations within your infrastructure. This enhances load balancing capabilities and increases the fault tolerance of your services.
Flexible Management of IP Address Blocks
Use dual IPs or address blocks for your infrastructure in increments of 4, 8, 16, 32, or more (subnet masks /30, /28, /27, /26, respectively). Manage your service as flexibly as your business requires and as your application supports.
One IP Address Block for Two Data Centers
Take advantage of a geographically distributed cloud platform deployed across two independent data centers. We will provide a single block of addresses for both data centers to ensure enhanced fault tolerance while maintaining consistent addressing.
Enhanced Security
Use different IP addresses for handling user requests and managing the technical side of the website. In the event of an attack on the public site, you will retain access to its infrastructure and be able to restore functionality quickly.

FAQs
Can I use my own IP addresses on the Colobridge platform?
Yes, you can use your own IP addresses as additional IP address blocks – this practice is even referred to as BYOIP (“Bring Your Own IP”). By taking advantage of this option, you can maintain the current configuration of your services associated with a specific IP address. This is particularly relevant for companies migrating all or part of their services to the cloud and wishing to retain public IP addresses for cloud services, ensuring continuity of their IP addressing.
What is the purpose of using an additional IP on the Colobridge platform?
First and foremost, it helps ensure the continuity of service (fault tolerance) for your online services. You gain the ability to quickly reassign IP addresses from one service to another without it being noticeable to your users. This is particularly useful when you need to periodically migrate services from one platform to another or switch to another (including backup) server. You can get a single backup IP or IP address blocks.
What are RIPE and ARIN IP addresses?
These are IP addresses issued by RIPE (Réseaux IP Européens) and ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers), respectively, and are part of the global internet addressing management system.
RIPE is a regional internet registry (RIR) responsible for the allocation and administration of IP addresses for Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Central Asia. RIPE NCC manages both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
ARIN performs similar functions for North America and parts of the Caribbean. ARIN also distributes IP addresses and manages ASNs (Autonomous System Numbers), which are necessary for internet traffic routing.
Both registries help manage the distribution of IP addresses to ensure their uniqueness and the proper functioning of the internet, as well as maintain a database that records all allocated addresses and owner information. This is crucial for ensuring internet stability and security.
